Barramundi a.k.a. Seabass

Ah Hua Kelong is known for our firm, sweet and tender – fresh Barramundi.
It is safe to say that this is our pride and joy.
Each barramundi is farmed from the time they are about 2 to 3 inches.
It takes about 9 months to farm them to marketable size.
We use high quality feeds that are approved by Singapore Food Agency.

Pearl Groupers are one of the most difficult fishes to farm.
Any wrong techniques used will damage the taste and texture of the fish.
We use soy pallets and bait fishes to feed our pearl grouper, hence they grow up to have soft, tender, oily meat.

Mussels grow naturally on our farm, we do not hinder its growth so as too retain it’s natural flavor. Harvesting these mussels is labor intensive – 1kg of mussels, approx 20-25 pieces, requires about 2 hours to harvest. So every time you bite on one, remember the hard-work that goes into it 🙂
